Deja Garraway is a Researcher at the Applied Economics Clinic. She has over 6 years of experience in data, research, and analysis, with a focus on economic mobility and environmental growth and sustainability. Prior to joining AEC, she was an Economic Research Manager affiliated with the Workforce Intelligence Network (WIN) based in Taylor, Michigan for over three years as lead of the Network’s data and research pillar. She has written over fourteen economic and labor market special studies, in addition to managing state and federal grants for a wide range of workforce development efforts. Recent research she has led focused on: the shift to electric vehicles and connected and automated vehicles; skills and credentials associated with training a skilled workforce; and labor market studies in industries such as advanced manufacturing, information technology, health care, energy, and transportation, distribution, and logistics.
Mrs. Garraway received her Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from Michigan State University, and a Master of Science in Urban Planning-Housing and Community Development, from Wayne State University, which drives her passion to advance environmental equity for underserved communities.
