Jordan Burt is a Researcher at the Applied Economics Clinic. Ms. Burt first joined AEC in 2022 as a Research Assistant. She has experience conducting research and analysis related to the topics of decarbonization and equity. Her expertise in geographic information science (GIS) also allows her to assess equity disparities and differences between communities within her projects.
Prior to joining the Applied Economics Clinic, Ms. Burt worked as a Research Assistant at Clark University where she was involved with variety of projects that dealt with water use in the manufacturing sector, water pollution, and environmental regulation. While obtaining her Master’s degree, Ms. Burt’s research focused on two topics: water availability and water pollution. The first topic consisted of an examination of the effects of water scarcity on the price of a handful of traded agricultural commodities. In her research on water pollution, she conducted a hedonic study of water quality in 14 Maryland counties adjacent to the Chesapeake Bay.
Ms. Burt is a Ph.D. Candidate in economics at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. She hopes to complete her degree with specializations in environmental economics and econometric theory by 2024. Her dissertation examines the relationship between fertilizer use and recreation in the Long Island Sound as an avenue for household pollution reduction. Ms. Burt holds a Master of Arts in Economics from Clark University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Assumption College.
