Net emissions and avoided emission analysis

Net emissions analysis is the accounting of reduced COâ‚‚ emissions from adding renewable energy or batteries to the grid, offset by increased emissions from land-use conversion that reduce carbon sequestration and from embodied greenhouse gases in project materials and construction.

Avoided emission analysis assesses the economic benefits of actions that result in less fossil-fuel or other polluting resources in operation.
