Sachin Peddada is an Assistant Researcher at the Applied Economics Clinic. At AEC, Sachin has co-authored reports on energy reliability, environmental justice, and economic equity, including Making Clean Energy Decisions in New England, Economic Impacts of a Clean Energy Transition in New Jersey, Cumulative Impact Assessment of the North Brooklyn Pipeline, and Impact of Refinery Row on the City of Corpus Christi.
Prior to joining AEC in January 2022, Sachin was a Public Health Analyst at RTI International for two years, in the organization’s center on Aging, Disability, and Long-Term Care. At RTI, he worked on a wide range of research projects for federal, state, and local government clients, including a review of patient barriers to access non-opioid pain treatments and a retrospective evaluation of the outcomes of 50 community programs addressing social determinants of health. Before working at RTI, Sachin interned at the Connecticut Legal Rights Project, where he analyzed disability-based discrimination in eviction outcomes and legal proceedings.
Sachin received their Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Yale University in 2019. From their academic work and prior experience, they bring proficiency in economic modeling, data analysis, programming in R and Stata, and qualitative research methods. Their passion lies at the intersection of economic justice and environmental justice, and they are also interested in political economy, resource sovereignty, and the impacts of neocolonialism in the Global South.
