Dr. Tanya Stasio is a Researcher at the Applied Economics Clinic. She has more than seven years of experience in research and analysis, with a focus on data-driven equity and environmental justice analysis, climate and energy policy assessment, and equitable building decarbonization. With a background in Geographic Information Science (GIS), Dr. Stasio specializes in spatial environmental and energy analysis. Dr. Stasio has authored more than 20 reports and has assisted in the preparation of expert testimony in Massachusetts, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, and other jurisdictions. Her recent work includes investigating the economic, environmental, and health impacts of Refinery Row on the City of Corpus Christi, identifying opportunities for increasing equity in PJM interconnection decision-making, and assessing the cumulative impacts of the North Brooklyn Pipeline Project in the Brooklyn borough of New York City.
Prior to joining the Applied Economics Clinic as a Researcher, Dr. Stasio held positions at Clark University, Simmons University, A Better City, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, and Climate Action Business Association. In her past work, Dr. Stasio has worked on designing equitable carbon tax policy, revising and improving state pollution regulations, and promoting sustainable modes of transportation for commuters.
Dr. Stasio holds a PhD in Economics from Clark University, a Master of Arts in Economics from Clark University, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Environmental Science from Simmons University.
