Dr. Tanya Stasio is a Researcher at the Applied Economics Clinic. She has more than five years of experience in research and analysis, with a focus on decarbonization, climate risk, climate policy, and geographic information science (GIS) analysis. She has authored reports on energy, climate, and environmental justice, including Equity Assessment of Electrification Incentives in the District of Columbia, PJM's Capacity Market: Clearing Prices, Power Plants, and Environmental Justice, and Assessment of Backup Diesel Generators in Massachusetts and New York City.
Prior to joining the Applied Economics Clinic in 2021 as a Researcher, Dr. Stasio worked for AEC as a Research Assistant for 3 years. In addition, she has held research assistant positions at Clark University examining the policy drivers of construction fatalities and Simmons University studying the welfare effects of water management policy on species harvest and welfare. Dr. Stasio has also completed internships with A Better City, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, and Climate Action Business Association. During her internships, she has worked on designing equitable carbon tax policy, revising, and improving state pollution regulations, and promoting sustainable modes of transportation for commuters.
Dr. Stasio holds PhD in Economics from Clark University, a Master of Arts in Economics from Clark University, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Environmental Science from Simmons University.
